Born and raised in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, Rebecca grew up surrounded by a vibrant art and craft community. She fell in love with making functional art during her first high school ceramics class in 2013. Rebecca studied classical ballet from a young age, and completed her last two years of high school as a dance major at Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA.
After graduating from Walnut Hill in 2017, Rebecca moved back to North Carolina to pursue a degree in ceramics, taking summer classes from local studios such as the Black Mountain Center for the Arts and The Village Potters Clay Center, and working in sales for the Southern Highland Craft Guild Gallery in Biltmore Village (Asheville, NC).
Rebecca earned her BFA in ceramics from the University of North Carolina Asheville in 2021. From 2021-23, she was an artist-in-residence at the Morean Center for Clay (Saint Petersburg, FL), where she taught community classes and exhibited work, including two solo shows.
Rebecca has participated in numerous juried and invitational exhibitions. Recent awards include best in show for ceramics in New Hampshire Art Association’s 2025 exhibition, Clay and Ink (Portsmouth, NH), the juror’s award for ceramic in Wayne Art Center’s Craft Forms 2024 (Wayne, PA), first place in Lighthouse Art Center’s 2023 functional ceramics show, Little Lush (Tequesta, FL), and a full scholarship to attend Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts’ 2025 summer residency, Of Form and Function. Currently, Rebecca lives in Providence, RI, where she is pursuing an MFA in ceramics at the Rhode Island School of Design.
